Caroline Rodriguez

Caroline is a M.S. candidate in the Marine Science program at California State University - Monterey Bay through Moss Landing Marine Laboratories. Prior to joining the NOAA CCME program, she received her Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and Earth/Ocean Science from Duke University in 2013. For her Masters thesis, she is using photogrammetry to investigate coral population dynamics in Hawaii. Her research aims to assess the variation in the population growth rate between the three dominant coral taxa in Hawaii and determine how thermal stress events impact coral population dynamics across the archipelago. In the future, she plans to use her education to work at the nexus of marine conservation and environmental justice to advocate for vulnerable communities who are most impacted by climate change.
